DIY FACE GOMMAGE

I have very sensitive, mature skin (I am 43, and my skin needs a gentle cleansing that does not destroy its protective lipid layer), so to make my DIY face gommage I use fine natural powders that cleanse my skin without irritating it.

I use chickpea flour as a base. It is very soft and gently polishes the skin; I add rose petal powder – I just love it! It has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. It gives your gommage this nice pinkish color and subtle rose aroma!

I also use kaolin clay for its detoxing properties and thin bamboo powder as a gentle exfoliator. You can get the recipe in my new short video:

HOW TO ADOPT THE FORMULA TO YOUR SKIN NEEDS

If you have oily skin, then you could opt for other ingredients. In your DIY face gommage, you could replace kaolin clay with green french clay (it unclogs the pores and detoxes your skin), and instead of rose petals powder, you can take matcha tea powder. If you suffer from acne, I suggest using tea tree essential oil instead of geranium oil.

If your skin is not sensitive, you could choose more active natural exfoliators – for example, walnut shell powder or strawberry seeds. It will provide you with deeper cleansing and polishing.

You could also use almond powder as a gentle exfoliator – it is easy to find and it contains natural oils that provide your skin with additional care. And you could use different types of nut flour as a base for your gommage as well 🙂
